Starbucks Unveils a Solution to Watery Iced Coffee

When people think of coffee shops, Starbucks is often the first thing that comes to mind. The massive franchise has spread itself across the world. In the United States of America, it is extremely difficult to find yourself at any great distance from a Starbucks store.

They are known for offering interesting selections, such as the unicorn Frappuccino that was available for a limited time in May of 2017. They are not often the ones who invent the idea, but due to their size and marketing power, they usually are the ones who bring it to the attention of the general public.

The same is true for their latest creation: ice cubes made of coffee. This is a beautiful solution to iced coffees that end up tasting very watered down once the ice cubes start to melt. These new ice cubes are made by freezing actual coffee into cube shapes. When they melt, all it does is add more coffee into the drink. This is a great idea, but Starbucks is not the first to use it. Avid coffee drinkers have been making coffee ice cubes at home for years.

Starbucks is currently testing out these coffee ice cubes at select locations to find out if they are a hit. The cubes are currently available at just 100 of Starbucks’ many locations for an extra 80 cents in any drink. The response so far has been positive. That is good news for coffee fans who are tired of watery drinks and who look forward to the more robust flavor that comes from using coffee ice cubes instead of regular ones. With any luck, these cubes will become available at all Starbucks locations in the near future.
