BFW, or as it is more commonly known, Best Franchisee of The World, is a yearly event that takes place on both large and small scale. Normally, this type of competition is held at an international level and has representatives from all across the world join together to name a top franchisee. Sometimes, however, a country will choose to hold a regional and more small scale competition so that they can nominate and decide which of their own business owners they would like to have as representatives for the real event. In both types of competitions, Franchisee’s are judged based on their success, innovative ideas, implementation of such ideas, and overall relationship that they can maintain with their companies.
Mexico held their very own competition for the first time about two years ago so that could finally compete in the real competition. There was approximately 32 people from different cities all across Mexico who joined together in the fight for Best Franchisee. The two top finalist were Omar Yunes and Ivan Tamer. Omar Yunes is franchisee of Sushi Itto, a Japanese style restaurant. Ivan Tamer, on the other hand, is Franchisee of Prendamex, which is a small network of pawnshops located throughout Mexico. Ivan Tamer was recognized for his new sales technique and programs while Omar Yunes was recognized for his professional yet successful relationship he was able to maintain with his franchise.
The international competition was held in Florence, Italy and people from all across the world gathered to compete and receive ideas and strategies on how to improve their own franchises and businesses. Omar Yunes implemented a better technique to control and measure the level of success in his franchises. He also worked with the CEO of Sushi Itto to better improve customer service relationships all across the board. Yunes has been a Franchise since he was 21 years old, so he has had a lot of experience in the field thus far.
