Olive Garden is going deep into gastronomic glee with a brand new lunch menu item, a very filling one at that. It is called the Meatball-Stuffed Pizza Bowl, according to a report by Eater.com.
The monster meal is a diner’s dream if you love meatballs, 10 of them, sitting in major sauce, draped in lots of gooey cheese and all arranged in a deep pizza dough bowl. The price is very decent at $8.99.
The big bad pizza dough bowl is also included as a recently-added item to Olive Garden’s Lunch Duos that start at $6.99. These pizza dough bowl meals are available until 3 PM at the restaurant, but if you really desire one at dinnertime, Olive Garden will accommodate you.
You probably don’t want to know the nutritional details about the Meatball Pizza Bowl, but you should at least be aware of the punch this Italian delight is packing.
Okay, brace yourselves, and hit the gym after lunch:
The nourishing meal features 860 calories, 49 grams of fat and 2,220 mg of sodium, and frankly, those are the food facts, according to the menu at Olive Garden.
Maybe not a dieter’s dream, but the edible bowl could be shared with a friend because there’s plenty to go around.
There are expert fans of the meatball stuffed entree and give it high marks for its abundant cheesiness. Delish.com, the foodie website, says that the Meatball-Stuffed Pizza Bowl is yummy because it carries the famous flavor of the restaurant chain’s beloved Olive Garden breadsticks with their signature herbs and spices. In addition, the cheeses really deliver a triple delight in Asiago, Parmesan and mozzarella.
Olive Garden likes to mix it up at mealtime and recently launched their tasty Italian Nachos.
