The popularity of gourmet cupcakes is here to stay and Disney World in Florida is continuing to capitalize on this booming food trend with a myriad of themed cupcake offerings. Disney is known for bringing the holidays into their theme parks with fun food options designed to delight guests of all ages. New to Disney World this year are five specially designed cupcakes to honor Earth Day along with the 20th anniversary of the opening of Disney’s Animal Kingdom park.
The most exclusive of the cupcakes is a limited edition Earth Day nugget available only on April 22. The rich chocolate cupcake arrives nestled inside an edible flower pot and topped with a cookie crumble. This celebration of earth is exclusively available the Contempo Café located in Disney’s Contemporary Resort. If you miss this extremely limited run of a cupcake, you can still find a slightly different Earth Day cupcake at the Animal Kingdom’s Pizzafari and Restaurantosaurus. This chocolate cake with white chocolate mousse filling is ready to be noshed now through May 5. An additional Earth Day cupcake was available at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge at Roaring Fork for those quick enough to get in on the delicious action.
The Wilderness Lodge is also offering the kid-approved dirt and worms option, featuring chocolate pudding and gummy worms. Disney bakers depart from the chocolate cupcake theme and roll out a vanilla option with buttercream in the last celebratory cupcake, available at Animal Kingdom’s Animal Kingdom’s Creature Comforts and Flame Tree Barbecue now through May 5. Disney Springs gets in on the fun with a trio of macaroons on a stick designed to look like a cactus. This treat can be found at Amorette’s Patisserie now through April 28.
Whatever your sweet tooth may fancy, Disney World is sure to have a delicious treat to satiate any appetite. Getting in on the Earth Day celebrations is just a bonus!
