The One Rector Street project, a high-end residential facility, is a result of an agreement by two partners; Shaquille O’”Neal and Boraie Development. With permission from Newark’s authorities, groundbreaking for the complex began in early 2013 with funding from a few well-known Newark-based investment institutions. Construction activities commenced several years later in 2017 after 2013’s initial groundbreaking.

One Rector Street is situated in Downtown Newark, next to McCarter Highway, near the Newark Light Rail and close to the Passaic River. The facility is built to have 169 compartments for rental purposes, a considerable size of ground floor retail space and a big parking space. The aim is to finish the project by the end of March 2019.
