Adam Milstein, the noted real estate developer, community leader, and philanthropist, recently gave an interview to ideamensch. One of the topics that came up was where the idea came from for the real estate development firm he founded, Hager Pacific Properties.
He said that he noted that when he was in college and going to recruiting events it seemed that the recruiters were either ignoring him or given low-ball offers compared to his classmates. He decided his best chance was to strike out on his own and so he became a Commercial Real Estate Broker.
After having great success during his first three years at this he had pocketed enough money that he could start investing in real estate with his own money.
One of the large trends in real estate is that markets are always going up and down. Another fact of the market is that it can take years for supply to meet demand or the reverse happening. Due to this, it can be a very long time before you profit in real estate, which is one of the things that Adam Milstein most enjoys about his career in the real estate business.
He also commented that another part of his career that he enjoys is relying on himself and finding his own solutions through careful consideration.
Adam Milstein was born in Israel and emigrated to the United States in 1981. He earned his MBA in Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California – Marshall School of Business. He specializes in purchasing, improving, and selling retail, office, multi-family, and industrial properties.
According to Crunchbase, Adam Milstein and his spouse founded the Adam and Gila Milstein Family Foundation in 2000. Through the foundation they provide educational opportunities for younger people to learn about Israel and identify with their Jewish history.
He also sits on several boards including Israel on Campus Coalition, StandWithUs, Jewish Funders Network, and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee among others. He is also the Chairman of the Board of the Israeli American Council where he works to engage and unite the Israeli-American community in the United States.
